अपने आख़िरी दिनों में औरंगज़ेब की निगाहें केवल पीछे मुड़कर ही नहीं देख रही थीं, बल्कि उनकी ज़द में आने वाला कल भी था। लेकिन वहां उन्हें जो भी दिखाई दे रहा था, वो उन्हें नापसंद था।
औरंगज़ेब अपनी हुकूमत के आने वाले कल को लेकर ख़ौफ़ज़दा थे और इस ख़ौफ़ की अच्छी-खासी वजहें भी थीं उन के पास। मगर सबसे बड़ी वजह थी सामने खड़ी वे तमाम माली और इंतज़ामी मुश्किलें, जिन्होंने मुग़ल हुकूमत को चारों ओर से घेर रखा था और जिनसे पार ले जाने वाला कोई लायक़ शख़्स औरंगज़ेब को दिखाई नहीं दे रहा था।
मौत के वक़्त औरंगज़ेब के तीन बेटे ज़िंदा थे, उनके दो बेटे उनसे पहले ही चल बसे थे, पर उनमें से एक भी बादशाही मिट्टी का न था।
मिसाल के तौर पर अठारहवीं सदी की शुरुआत में लिखे एक ख़त में औरंगजेब ने अपने दूसरे बेटे मुअज़्ज़म को कांधार फ़तह करने में नाकाम रहने के लिए। न केवल जमकर फटकार लगाई, बल्कि इतनी कड़वी बात कहने से भी गुरेज नहीं किया कि 'नाकारा बेटे से तो बेटी का बाप होना ही अच्छा है.' अपने इस ख़त का अंत भी उन्होंने इस चुभते सवाल के साथ किया कि -
'तुम इस दुनिया में अपने दुश्मनों को और उस दुनिया में पाक परवरदिगार को क्या मुंह दिखाओगे?'
औरंगज़ेब यह नहीं समझ पा रहे थे कि वह अपने भीतर दरअसल एक जवाबदेही का वज़न महसूस कर रहे है, क्योंकि हुकूमत की ज़िम्मेदारी उठाने के लिए तैयार न होने की वजह से उनके बेटे मुग़लिया तख़्त पर काबिज़ होने के क़ाबिल न थे।

Incredible footage shows the moment a 10-foot snake was lifted off the ground by a digger. The colossal ʙᴇᴀsᴛ appears to have been found by workers clearing out part of the Dominica rainforest.

With the reptile being at least 10ft long in length, the snake being lifted in the claws of the digger at a height but incredibly is still almost able to touch the floor. One said, “It looks like world record sʜɪᴛ.” Another posted: ‘Really. That thing is really jumbo.’ It is not clear what kind of snake it was. When the snake was pulled out, it was still alive as it could visibly be seen slithering around in the claw (and perhaps is wondering what’s going on).
