पुणे के कोंढवा इलाके में गुरुवार तड़के एक बंद पड़े जल शोधन संयंत्र से क्लोरीन गैस का रिसाव होने से अफरा-तफरी मच गई. गैस की चपेट में आने से दो दमकलकर्मियों समेत कुल 24 लोगों को सांस लेने में तकलीफ के बाद अस्पताल में भर्ती कराया गया है.

दमकल के अधिकारी सुनील नाइकनावारे ने बताया कि कोंढवा स्थित गंगाधाम इलाके में बुधवार-गुरुवार की दरमियानी रात को एक पुराने जल शोधन संयंत्र के गोदाम में रखी क्लोरीन टैंक से गैस का रिसाव होने की सूचना मिली थी. सूचना मिलने के बाद मौके पर पहुंची टीम ने पूरे इलाके को खाली कराया और गैस के फैलाव को रोकने के लिए टैंक को पैच लगा दिया. इस प्रक्रिया के दौरान खुद दो जवान भी जहरीली गैस की चपेट में आ गए.

भिलारे ने आजतक को बताया कि गैस फैलने के कारण आसपास के कम-से-कम इलाके में रहने वाले 22 लोग और बचाव कार्य में जुटे 2 दमकलकर्मियों को सांस लेने में दिक्कत होने लगी. सभी 24 लोगों को तुरंत ससून जनरल अस्पताल में भर्ती कराया गया है, जहां उनका इलाज जारी है.
