Posting a video message for the deceased leader on Twitter, Lalu Yadav from his hospital bed in Singapore where he is recuperating from a kidney transplant surgery, said, "I am saddened to hear the news of big brother Sharad Yadav`s death. He, besides late Mulayam Singh Yadav, Nitish Kumar and myself learnt politics of socialism from Ram Manohar Lohia and Karpoori Thakur."

एक बार सूरदासजी किसी भजन कीर्तन में जाने के लिए रास्ते से होकर जा रहे थे. सूरदासजी तो अंधे थे. लेकिन अंदाजा से अपनी लाठी से जा रहे थे. तभी अचानक हवा पलटी और सूरदासजी रास्ता भटक गए और एक कुए में गिर गए और लटक गए. अब सूरदासजी ने कुए में ही कीर्तन शुरू कर दिया. सूरदासजी की सरलता को देखकर भगवान एक बालक का रूप लेकर आये और सूरदासजी को कहा बाबा! आप मेरा हाथ पकड़ लो. सूरदासजी समझ गए, आ गए मेरे गिरधर गोपाल.
सूरदासजी कहते हैं मैं तो अँधा हूँ मुझे आपका हाथ कहाँ दिखेगा. लेकिन आपको तो मेरा हाथ पता हैं तो अआप ही मेरा हाथ पकड़ लीजिये. अब सूरदासजी का भगवान ने हाथ पकड़ लिया और सूरदास जी को बहार लेकर आ गए. अब सूरदासजी ने भगवान का हाथ पकड़ लिया. बालक ने कहा छोड़ो मुझे! छोड़ दो बाबा! सूरदासजी ने कहा भगवन बड़ी मुश्किल से तो आप मिले हैं. आपको कैसे छोड़ दू. अब मैं आपको नहीं छोडूंगा. भगवान जैसे ही हाथ छुड़ाकर जाने लगे तो राधा रानी वहां प्रकट हो गयी. सूरदास जी ने माता को भी पहचान लिया. भगवान श्री कृष्ण राधा को रोकने लगे. मत जाओ! बाबा पकड़ लेगा, मत जाओ!
सूरदासजी ने राधा रानी के पैर पकड लिए और उनके हाथ में उनकी पायल आ गयी. तब राधा रानी सूरदासजी की भक्ति से प्रसन्न होकर उनको आंखे लौटा दी. सूरदासजी ने जी भर कर हरि और राधा रानी को देखा. सूरदास जी भगवन से कहा मुझे एक और वरदान दीजिए! आप मुझे वापस अंधा कर दीजिये.
अब मैंने आपको देख लिया. अब मुझे इस आँखों से और किसी को नहीं देखना हैं.
