वैकुंठ एकादशी हिंदू परंपराओं में सबसे पवित्र पर्वों में से एक है, जिस दिन सत्य के साधकों के लिए स्वर्ग के द्वार खुल जाते हैं। यह पवित्र दिन मोक्ष का वादा समेटे हुए है, जो जन्म और मृत्यु के अंतहीन चक्र से मुक्ति है।
इसका नाम ही इसके सार को दर्शाता है। भगवान विष्णु का दिव्य निवास वैकुंठ, आत्मा का अंतिम गंतव्य है, दुखों से परे एक ऐसा लोक जहाँ दिव्य आनंद शाश्वत रूप से व्याप्त रहता है।
पवित्र महत्व।
इस दिन, भक्तों का मानना है कि भगवान विष्णु चार महीने की अपनी ब्रह्मांडीय नींद, जिसे चतुर्मास्य के नाम से जाना जाता है, से जागते हैं। जैसे ही वे ब्रह्मांडीय सागर पर अपने योगिक विश्राम से जागते हैं, ब्रह्मांड स्वयं नई आध्यात्मिक ऊर्जा से जीवंत हो उठता है। इस अवसर पर उपवास, प्रार्थना और रात्रि जागरण किया जाता है।
परंपरा के अनुसार, वैकुंठ एकादशी का सच्चे मन से पालन करने से अनगिनत जन्मों के कर्मफल मिट जाते हैं। ऐसा कहा जाता है कि इस दिन का आदर करने मात्र से ही आध्यात्मिक परिवर्तन की प्रक्रिया शुरू हो जाती है, जिससे पिछले कर्मों का संचित प्रभाव धुल जाता है और उच्च चेतना के मार्ग खुल जाते हैं।
